Are you looking for a comfortable and durable mattress that will hopefully last you a lifetime? It’s everyone’s dream, so when I found the Durable Mattress brand, I was really curious to see if it lives up to the name. Having been in the industry for years, I don’t trust marketing claims. I also know that aggressive marketing campaigns come at a cost, usually reflected in the product price. That’s why I always look for hidden gems, in the most unusual places.
About Durable Mattress
This is a new mattress brand, definitely launched in 2025. They entered the market quite quietly, with a straightforward line of products: few but promising, bound to meet most needs:
- Durable Mattress – A 14” flippable hybrid available in Firm, Medium, and Soft options (more about it in the following lines!)
- Cooling Durable Pillow – Removable and washable cooling fabric cover and CertiPUR-US® memory foam core with ventilation holes.
- HyperChill Mattress Protector – HyperChill™ cooling breathable fabric with lab-certified H2Pro™ liquid-proof membrane.
- Durable & Durable Pro Adjustable Bases – Adjust your bed from Zero Gravity to Anti-Snoring and other positions from the remote, or go Pro with Massage, Underbed Lighting, and USB Ports.
Durable Mattress Delivery and Unboxing
We tested the king-size. It took about one week to receive it. The first thing we noticed was the weight. This mattress is quite heavy, definitely a job for two. I wished we had a dolly to help carry it to the bedroom. Removing the plastic wrap and putting it in place wasn’t easy either. We did take comfort in the thought that its heaviness is a sign of quality and durability.
We were ready to leave the mattress in place to air out and inflate for 48h – 72h. To our surprise, there was no nasty, chemical smell, or at least we didn’t sense it. It also inflated pretty fast. It looked usable in less than 15 minutes. Of course, we chose to wait for 24h before actually letting the kids jump on it, just to be sure.
I was impressed with how well the corners and edges lined up. Usually, especially in all-foam mattresses, uneven corners and edges are quite frequent. The side fabric looks really thick and durable. We were a bit worried that the handles might not be able to support the considerable weight of the mattress, but they did their job, despite their apparent frailty.
I thought I couldn’t make do without a pillow top mattress, but turns out I like euro tops as well. While pillowtops, all soft and fluffy, are perfect during cold weather, with euro tops you get the same comfort, minus the heat – they feel a bit airier, more breathable. This euro top feels really nice, and the patterns on the fabric do a great job keeping the bedding in place.
Flippable Mattress: 2 Sides for Double Lifespan?
The key selling point of this mattress model is the flippable, 2-sided design which, supposedly, allows it to last two times more than regular, 1-sided mattresses. While there are other flippable mattresses out there, this one is a bit different. Instead of having a different firmness layer on each side, like the SweetNight Prime, it had the same firmness level on both sides.
I recommend flipping the mattress quarterly, just to air it out and ensure even wear and tear. But when the mattress has a different firmness level on the other side, flipping it impacts your comfort. With Durable Mattress, you don’t have to worry about that, because the two sides are alike. You’ll enjoy the same comfort and support no matter how many times you flip it or on which side you sleep.
The firmness could only become an issue if your needs and preferences change, for example, during pregnancy, following surgery, major changes in weight, or sleep position. For such situations, I’d recommend having a bed of the same size in the guest room and ordering a different firmness there. Should anything happen, you can just move the guest room mattress to your bedroom and your bedroom mattress to the guest room.
It’s important to note that this brand doesn’t just put a nice cover on the bottom of the mattress to call it versible. It has a special, hybrid construction, with the same layers on each side, and the pocketed steel coils system in the middle, working its magic for both layers.
Durable Mattress Construction
This hybrid mattress has a sandwich-like construction, with the steel coils acting as the middle, or filling, and the foam layers representing the bread slices – similar slice or same structure on each side. For that reason, I’m not going to cover the foam layers twice, since, no matter if you start reviewing them from the top or from the bottom of the mattress, the foam layers will be the same. Here are the basics
1. Cooling Cover
Durable offers the cooling cover is advertised as a free upgrade worth $199. It’s made from a blend of 50% polyester and 50% polyethylene and does offer a refreshing, cool-to-the-touch feeling. Mine came with a couple of small loose threads, but cutting them off didn’t affect the fabric. Moreover, when I informed customer service, they seemed keen on receiving and acting on feedback, which is nice.
2. High-Density Quilting Foam
This layer is 1-inch thick and gives the top of the mattress a cloud-like feel. It makes it soft and comfy, supporting your sensitive areas and relieving pressure, but without letting you sink.
3. Pressure Relief Foam
I may be wrong but this layer looks like serene foam to me. Unlike regular memory foam, it’s not temperature sensitive. On the contrary, it helps dissipate heat and maintains its plushy feel throughout the night, relieving pressure.
4. Support Transition Foam
This layer is made of HD transition support foam and aims to improve back support.
5. Pocketed Steel Coils
Durable Mattresses come with 3-zone steel pocketed coils, focused on providing additional support for the lumbar area. Of course, they also provide all the benefits that come with pocketed coil systems, like local support and pressure relief, improved airflow, and excellent motion isolation.
6. Edge-to-edge coils
With mattresses over 12”, and especially for sleepers sharing their bed, edge support is quite important. The thicker the mattress the more disturbing the feeling of falling off becomes when sitting or lying on the edge. Some mattresses have perimeters reinforced with support foam to prevent that. This particular brand used a different, stronger type of edge coils. They’re supposed to offer 20% greater strength compared to other online brands. I didn’t bother to double-check that, but edge support is, indeed, superior to what I’ve seen in most mattresses.
Under the pocketed steel coils, you’ll find the exact same layers described above: support transition foam, pressure relief foam, high-density quilting foam, and cooling cover. It’s important to note that the side fabric is sturdier than the rest, and the handles are quite conveniently placed.
Durable Mattress Firmness and Sleep Position
Durable Mattresses are available in Firm, Medium, and Soft options. My husband sleeps mostly on his back, and it somehow got to his head that he needs a firm mattress, so we got the firm version. It ended up being too firm, even for him. I would rate it around 8/10. Under the circumstances, I’d correlate the different firmness options and sleep positions as follows:
- Firm (8/10): Best for heavy back and stomach sleepers and those who prefer a firm sleep surface
- Medium(6/10): Best for lightweight back and stomach sleepers and combination sleepers. Should work well for heavier side sleepers as well.
- Soft (4-5/10): Ideal for side sleepers and lightweight individuals seeking additional cushioning.
I have to say that this mattress seems quite sturdy, able to support heavier sleepers. My husband and I both weigh around 200 lbs each, and even when we were watching movies with the girls, the mattress felt supportive, unaffected by the nearly 600 lbs of combined weight. One of the things I like about this mattress is that, due to its hybrid construction, it provides more bounce than the foam mattresses I’ve tested, making sex easier and more enjoyable.
Durable Mattress Cooling
No idea if it’s just because of the euro top cooling cover or the pocketed coils and serene foam play their part as well, but this mattress feels and sleeps quite cool. I guess the soft version may feel slightly warmer than the firm due to the added cushioning, but it should still be quite breathable and cooler than many other similarly priced mattresses.
Support and Pressure Relief
Based on my experience, I’d say that the only scenario when you wouldn’t feel supported and comfortable on this mattress is if you don’t choose the right firmness for your needs. It’s normal for a side sleeper to feel pressure around their shoulders and hips on the firm version, or for a back or stomach sleeper to feel unsupported on the soft version. But if you take your sleep position and weight into account, this mattress series should be the key to a restful, supportive, pressure-relieving sleep.
Durable Mattress Trial and Warranty
All Durable Mattresses come with a 100-night trial and lifetime warranty. When I first discovered the mattress, I couldn’t help but wonder if there was a reason behind the rather short trial period, given that some brands offer in-home trials of up to one year. However, we slept on ours for nearly 200 days. With our weight and level of activity, had there been any issues, they would have been noticeable by now. My take is that they didn’t want to complicate things. 3 months / 100 nights is more than enough to try a mattress and see if it’s good for you. Beyond that, it’s just marketing.
And in case of issues with the mattress other than the firmness choice or personal preferences, you’re covered for a lifetime. That’s quite impressive, don’t you think? It makes sense, though, due to the flippable design. Even if the mattress starts to sag or wear out on one side, you can flip it and rotate it to enjoy the same comfort and support you got used to in the first place. It does look and feel solid, so I don’t expect anything to go wrong with it.
Durable Mattress Price and Value for the Money
The full price of the queen-size mattress is $1999. I’d say it’s mid-priced, not far from some of the top brands out there, like Puffy or Beautyrest, and others. It may be a bit out of reach for those looking for a mattress under $500, but it’s important to understand the differences and the lifetime aspect of the investment. We spend a third of our lives in bed, and our health, wellness, and productivity, even our mood, depend on how well we sleep. You don’t buy just a mattress, you buy health and rest, and, why not, better sex.
But there’s more: the company runs frequent sales that allow you to save money and even get extra benefits. For example, at the time of this review, they’re offering $300 off and the cooling fabric upgrade for free. That’s close to $500 in savings. And the discounts go up to 50% on some of their other products, like the Cooling Durable Pillow.

Durable Mattress Reviews
Since this is a rather new brand, it doesn’t have many reviews. OurSleepGuide reviewed it and recommends it as one of the best mattresses. SleepFoundation recommends it as one of the best flippable mattresses on the market. I also found it on BuyersGuide’s list of best firm mattresses. I’d say that these endorsements are more than enough to inspire trust and reassure you that you’ll get your money’s worth.
