I’ve always preached the importance of having love in the bedroom. Although I usually refer to a different type of love, today I’ll review the Out Cold™ Refresh Mattress from I Love Pillow | I Love Mattress. This brand, briefly overviewed here, promises sleepers that they’ll fall in love with their products. I don’t fall for marketing gimmicks but I do like to explore new products, and, overwhelmed by ads from Nectar, Dreamcloud, Saatva, Puffy, and others, I thought you may appreciate a new alternative.
I Love Pillow | I Love Mattress Company Review
Registered under the name of LMP Worldwide, Inc., the company is based in Milford, MI. Memory foam manufacturers for some of the most prominent names in the American automotive industry (Ford, Tesla, BMW, GM, etc., they take pride in over 25 years of experience as memory foam artists. Their adventure in the sleep industry began several years ago, and materialized in a wide range of products, including mattresses, pillows, toppers, replacement pillow covers, and throw blankets. My favorite product in their inventory is an adorable teddy bear that got my daughters begging me to buy new pillows (or anything I want, as long as I add more teddy bears).
Leaving fun facts aside, we’re talking about a well-established brand. Initially named I Love My Pillow, they later rebranded to I Love Pillow | I Love Mattress. Their products are available on all the major retail websites (Amazon, Walmart, etc.), in hundreds of physical stores, and also wholesale. Those who went to Vegas Market in January or to PrimeTime in March had the chance to experience I Love Pillow | I Love Mattress products first-hand.

I Love Pillow Out Cold™ Refresh Mattress Review
The Out Cold Collection from I Love Pillow | I Love Mattress includes four mattress models: Renew, Refresh Mattress, Restore, and Copper Perfect Fit. All of them look promising, but since we were looking for a full-sized mattress and wanted it at least 12” thick, the Refresh stood out as the best option. Let’s take a closer look at it and see what it has to offer.

Out Cold™ Refresh Mattress Unboxing
The mattress is delivered compressed, to reduce size and waste, ease packaging and shipping, and improve protection against dust, stains, and damage during shipping. The carton box is white, allowing the brand logo to stand out. Carrying the mattress and unboxing it is a job for two. As usual, it helps to remove the plastic sheet when the mattress is already in place, as once inflated it will be more difficult to move around. Also, be careful when removing the plastic sheet, to avoid damaging the mattress cover.
The manufacturer recommends allowing up to 24 hours for the mattress to fully inflate before sleeping on it. Usually, it decompresses faster than that but it’s better to be safe than sorry. One thing you’ll love about it is that it doesn’t leave out powerful chemical smells. It never hurts to let the room air when unboxing a new mattress, but off-gassing is less of a concern with I Love Mattress than with other brands.
Another thing I love about this mattress is the simple yet elegant design. The cover is removable and washable. The top part is white and has nice circle patterns that add adherence and prevent the bedding from slipping. The bottom part is nearly black and quite resistant, not only to dirt and stains but also to possible wear and tear from imperfect wood finishes or metal binding.
Out Cold™ Refresh Mattress Construction
Usually, the benefits and sleep performance of a mattress are generated by the layers under the cover. Before we take a look at what the Refresh Mattress hides, it’s important to pay some attention to the cover itself, as it seems the company went out of their way to make it special. It’s removable, washable, and hypoallergenic, made from the patented Out Cold™ Renew fabric. Infused with copper, this fabric feels 70% cooler than most competing cool-to-touch materials, while also providing the antimicrobial and therapeutic effects of copper. Despite its cooling properties, the fabric feels cozy and pleasant to touch. It’s soft and welcoming, with a luxurious feel, and provides just enough adherence to keep the bedsheets in place.
1. 1″ of Nano Cool™ Memory Foam
This layer is responsible for balancing temperature and enhancing cooling properties, while also relieving pressure and adding comfort. It cradles the body, adjusting to each curve and relieving pressure points. This is all made possible by the company’s patented MicroCell™ technology.
2. 3” of TheraFresh™ Memory Foam
Infused with silver, copper, and graphene, this foam adds cooling and therapeutic benefits. It prevents mold, germs, bacteria, and bad odor, while also balancing body heat and, thus, contributing to a cool and dry sleep surface. Contouring to the shape of your body, it evenly distributes weight and reduces pressure points. According to the manufacturer, those struggling with neck pain, back pain, or any other discomfort during sleep will wake up feeling rested and refreshed – hence the name of the mattress.
3. 8″ High-Density Body Support™ Core
This layer ensures the stability and durability of the Out Cold™ Refresh mattress while minimizing motion transfer and enhancing edge support. It’s supposed to prevent sagging, sinking, and feeling trapped, as it happens with many memory foam mattresses on the market.
Out Cold™ Refresh Mattress Firmness and Sleep Positions
The firmness level of a mattress is perhaps even more important than its construction or quality. Even the most luxurious mattress can feel uncomfortable to some sleepers if it doesn’t have the firmness they need. Back and stomach sleepers need a firmer mattress to keep their spine aligned and not let their heavier body areas sink. Side sleepers need a softer mattress to relieve pressure in the hips and shoulder area and cradle their body.
The Refresh falls into the latter category and is rated as a plush mattress. On a scale of ten, with 1 being the softest and 10 being the firmest, this mattress would sit between 3 and 4. It’s great for side sleepers and combination sleepers who prefer more cushioning. Those sleeping on their back or stomach, or who prefer more support and feeling on top of everything, would be better off with the Restore mattress, which is Medium Firm, or the Perfect Fit mattress, which has a reversible layer that allows the sleeper to adjust firmness between Plush and Firm. There’s also the Renew mattress, with a Medium firmness.
Mattress Care Instructions
In case of unfortunate accidents, like spills and spotting, the manufacturer recommends removing the mattress cover and washing it in the machine, using cold water and a mild detergent. If needed, the foam should be spot-cleaned using a damp cloth. After cleaning, the mattress should be allowed to air and dry before putting the cover back on.

Shipping is free on all orders and is ensured via FedEx Ground. Buyers will receive tracking information and updates by email after order processing. Typically, orders ship within 24-72 business hours. Delivery takes between 3 and 7 business days, depending on location and shipping provider staffing.
Just like all other mattresses, the Out Cold™ Refresh is backed by a 10-year warranty. The manufacturer recommends sleeping on it for at least 30 nights before deciding if it suits your needs, to give your body a chance to adjust. You then have up to 100 nights to return it. The process involves filling in the Mattress Exchange and Return Request Form. Based on it, a customer service representative will be in touch.
It’s important to note that, in most cases, the shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility. Also, if the returned product is damaged, abused, or soiled, no refund will be issued. The good news is that I Love Pillow products seem to last much longer than they are warranted for. While pillows only have a 5-year warranty, we found a review claiming they last 15 years, and we can only assume that mattresses last longer. The Out Cold™ Refresh certainly looks and feels like a sturdy, long-lasting bed.

Their products are also endorsed by media giants like Time.com, Prevention.com, and SleepFoundation.org.

This is a high-quality, solid, and comfortable plush mattress, perfect for side sleepers and combination sleepers who prefer a softer mattress. The copper, silver, and graphene infusions promise to keep moisture and odor at bay and regulate body temperature. You can count on excellent cooling properties, decent edge support and motion isolation, and great pressure relief. Being made of three memory foam layers, the Out Cold Refresh is not the bounciest mattress out there but you won’t sink or feel trapped on it either, but comfortable and consented.
With the 100-nights trial and 10-years warranty, you can rest assured that you’ll enjoy your investment for a lot time. And this really is an important investment, as it will determine your sleep, comfort, and well-being for years to come. If the price is a challenge, you have financing solutions available.
