I like my pillow tall and fluffy, because I sleep on one side and need more support. My husband likes his pillow soft and nearly flat, sleeping mostly on his back. The girls prefer them in between and with a zipper, so they can steal some of the filling for their DIY projects :). So, for years, in our home, we never had 2 pillows alike. But that changed with the SweetNight Cooling Pillows.
SweetNight is my favorite mattress brand. I’ve already reviewed their Prime and CoolNest mattresses and added them to my deals list as well. A few years ago, they had the Original Cooling Pillow, but they discontinued it before I got a chance to buy. Recently, they launched a new, improved version that I just had to try.

Unboxing
The new SweetNight cooling pillows are available as a 2-pack, in queen and king size, and usually sell for 36.99, discounted from $65.99. Shipping is free, and delivery usually takes up to one week. Not that you’d need it, but financing is available through Afterpay, Affirm, and PayPal.
The box weighs around 10 lbs. It includes a leaflet, the pillow covers packed together, and the filling, each in its own zippered nylon case, rolled and compressed. The filling is a combination of shredded memory foam and down-like microfiber – polyester (66%) and polyethylene (34%). It decompresses as soon as you remove the plastic foil it’s wrapped in.
The nylon case is quite thin and airy. This is supposed to be key for breathability, but because it’s so thin, the filling looks uneven and shapeless in it, quite disappointing. I was beginning to think my pillows would never look decent, and I’d need to throw them away.
But that’s where Sweetight’s patented cooling covers come in. They’re quite thick, well-shaped, and with reinforced stitching, so they do a great job shaping and evening the filling. Moreover, they’re made from a special OEKO-TEX-certified fabric with 2 different sides:
- Ice silk fabric that feels luxuriously cool and pleasant to touch on one side
- Breathable fabric for the cold season on the other side
The two sides are joined together by a 3D mesh insert of about 2”. While its main role is to improve air flow and breathability, I think it contributes to the pillows’ shape and feel. Although they inflated and seemed ready to use within seconds, I had to let the pillows air out and off-gas for about half a day before using them.

Impressions and Sleep Experience
Overall, with the airy filling, breathable cases, and ice silk covers, the pillows feel really cool and breathable. They’re also very high and supportive, but you have the option of removing some of the filling if you prefer them softer.
I love how they adjust to the shape of your head, neck, and shoulders, adequately supporting the sensitive areas and relieving pressure. Also, they don’t change their shape or flatten during sleep, which is quite impressive.
Another thing that surprised me about these pillows is their weight. They feel heavier than most pillows I’ve held. It was actually funny. While waiting for delivery, my daughters were planning a pillow fight, but when we received them, my youngest was barely able to lift one.
Then, they seem durable and well-made, able to withstand multiple washes. The zippers look quite sturdy, and all the cover stitchings are reinforced. With a little filling airing and fluffing now and then, your pillows should look and feel like new for years to come. I’ve had mine for about 2 months now, and they’re as new.
Who Will Benefit from Sleeping on SweetNight Cooling Pillows?
I don’t believe in perfection, but unless you’re looking for something really specific, like bolster pillows, or you’re keen on using products from 100% natural materials or CBD-infused, these pillows won’t disappoint you.
Their dual cover lets you switch from cool to cozy as needed. Their high profile and slow rebound makes them perfect for side sleepers needing more support. Back and stomach sleepers can easily remove some of the filling to find their comfort as well.
I’d say that, from one SweetNight cooling pillow, you could easily make two ordinary pillows that usually come rolled within mattresses as free gifts. Chances are, they’ll still feel more comfortable and supportive.

SweetNight Cooling Pillows Conclusions
I haven’t tried many premium pillows, so I can’t say 100% that these are the best pillows out there. But you should definitely keep them in mind when choosing pillows for your bedroom. Here’s why:
- Their adjustable profile makes them great for everyone, no matter the preferred sleep position.
- They’re supportive, and they return to their shape reliably after every use, without lumps or empty corners.
- Cooling and breathability are ensured as well.
- Durability shouldn’t be an issue given the reinforced stitching.
